The Canon EOS R5 is an incredible camera body. There’s not much more to it.
45 megapixels, full-frame, perfect in your hands. It delivers breathtaking photography and video capabilities - versatile, reliable, and a pleasure to use.
It works for almost any kind of photography. Portraits? Landscapes? Weddings? Sports? It handles them all.
As I've mentioned in my post about the Fujifilm GFX 100S II, people like to say gear doesn’t matter, but let’s be real - it can help. That said, don’t throw money at a camera thinking it’ll make you better. Learn the craft first. Composition, lighting, storytelling - that’s where the magic is. If and when you're ready and able, choose your player.
And when it comes to gear, your glass matters even more. Your lenses are what shape the way your camera sees the world. Invest wisely.
At the end of the day, photography is about capturing light. If your image looks flat, try changing the light. If your colors aren’t popping, change the light. Settings matter, but lighting is everything.
Want to know if this camera is right for you? Go to a store. Pick it up. Feel it. Try it. Don't buy on a whim - the best camera is the one you'll love and actually use (and that's within your budget).
