The Fujifilm GFX 100S II is an absolute beast of a camera. 102 megapixels, a massive sensor, and a beautifully designed body inside and out.
It delivers ridiculous image quality - sharp, detailed, and rich. If you shoot portraits, landscapes, or fine art, this camera will reward you with stunning results.
The only real drawback? The price. But if photography is your profession, if you’re earning money from your work, this camera could pay for itself.
On the other hand, if it isn't and you're not, you can definitely opt for something less expensive that's still incredible. Technology in cameras today is wild and chances are you do not need the best of the best of the best. There will always be something better, just choose the right gear for your needs and budget.
As I've mentioned in my post about the Canon EOS R5, people love to say gear doesn’t matter. But if you already know your craft, the right tools can make a difference. Just don’t let fancy specs distract you from the fundamentals, and certainly take your time to learn how a camera functions and what works best for you before investing in expensive camera bodies.
Your lenses matter even more. Medium format glass is a whole different world, and it’s worth every penny if you’re after that look.
Photography is all about light, so if your image isn’t working, fix the light first. Then check your settings, then maybe think about your gear.
Thinking about buying one? Go hold it in your hands first. See if it feels right. The best camera isn’t just the most powerful - it’s the one that fits you.
